Michelle Shannon Mittica graduated from Western New Mexico University with an Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies degree. She then became a certified ophthalmic technician and a certified ophthalmic coding specialist by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology.  Most recently she has completed a second Associate degree in Opticianry and is a certified Optician by the American Board of Opticianry.  She is also a current member of the New Mexico Opticians Association. 

Gila Optical is conveniently located inside Gila Eyecare where her husband  Nicholas Mittica MD practices Ophthalmology, a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, physician and surgeon.  Both Nicholas and Michelle have been serving southwest New Mexico for 13 years.
